About This Property
Front Row
on Aliʻi
Drive
75-5952 Aliʻi Drive sits directly on the lava shoreline of Kailua-Kona, close enough that the ocean becomes part of every day. Built in 2011, the residence was designed around its covered lanais, so the living spaces open straight out to the water.
From those lanais, the life of the Kona coast plays out in front of you all year. Dolphins pass close to shore, humpback whales breach offshore in season, outrigger paddlers work the coastline in the morning, and on race day the Ironman athletes come down the Aliʻi Drive course. Cruise ships anchor off Kailua Bay to the north, and the sun sets over open ocean.
The main level is a single great room under vaulted ceilings. Louvered windows pull the ocean breezes through, and sliding pocket doors open fully so the room and the lanai become one space. The kitchen is finished in custom mahogany cabinetry with an induction cooktop, double ovens, a wine cooler, and a large island with a prep sink, and a pass-through window serves the lanai directly. An office with a built-in desk and a powder room complete the level.
All three bedrooms are on the upper level, set apart from the living spaces. The primary suite opens onto its own oceanfront lanai and has a dual-vanity bath, a walk-in shower with dual heads, and a generous closet. A second bedroom also opens to an ocean-facing lanai.
At the shoreline level, a hot tub sits under the trees at the edge of the lava, with an outdoor shower beside it and a private putting green running along the side yard toward the water. A private elevator connects the levels. Twenty-two owned photovoltaic panels and a solar water heater, split-zone air conditioning, central vacuum, and stainless steel railings round out a home with approximately 2,277 square feet of lanais and carport, nearly matching its interior.
